Warhammer 40000 Dark Millennium Online "Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online" was a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that was being developed by Vigil Games and THQ, based on Games Workshop"s Warhammer 40,000 setting. It was announced in March 2007 and was set to be Vigil"s first project. The game was set in the 41st Millennium, well after the Horus Heresy, where players could have taken the role of forces from the Empire of Man or Chaos. The game was intended to have a multi-layered gameplay system, featuring both Player versus Environment (PvE) and Player versus Player (PvP) elements. However, due to financial issues at THQ, the game was cancelled in March 2012. The company later filed for bankruptcy in December 2012 and its assets, including Vigil Games, were sold off. The rights to the Warhammer 40,000 franchise were acquired by Sega. As a result, "Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online" was never released.
