Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising 3 "Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising" is the first standalone expansion to "Dawn of War II", a real-time strategy game developed by Relic Entertainment and published by THQ. Released in 2010, "Chaos Rising" introduces the Chaos Space Marines as a new faction and continues the campaign from the original game. In the third mission of "Chaos Rising", the player is tasked with investigating Aurelia, a planet that has mysteriously reappeared from the Warp after a thousand years. The planet is infested with Chaos forces, and the player must fight through them to uncover the truth behind Aurelia"s reappearance. The mission begins with the player"s forces landing on the planet and immediately coming under attack from Chaos Space Marines. The player must fight through these initial forces and push deeper into the planet, battling through waves of Chaos enemies and navigating treacherous terrain. Along the way, the player can discover new weapons and equipment to strengthen their forces, as well as uncovering pieces of lore that shed light on the story. The mission culminates in a boss battle against a powerful Chaos champion, after which the player is given a glimpse of the greater threat looming over the galaxy. "Chaos Rising" adds a number of new features to "Dawn of War II", including the Corruption system, which allows the player"s characters to be influenced by the powers of Chaos, gaining new abilities but also risking the loss of their souls
