Reverend Seraphim of Sarov Reverend Seraphim of Sarov (1754-1833) was a Russian Orthodox monk and saint who was renowned for his piety and asceticism. He is remembered for his spiritual writings, including the famous “Conversations with Seraphim of Sarov”, which have been translated into many languages. He is also remembered for his miracles, which included healing the sick and raising the dead. He is venerated as a saint in the Russian Orthodox Church and his feast day is celebrated on July 19.
