John of Kronstadt , (1829-1909) was a Russian Orthodox priest who is widely revered as a saint in the Orthodox Church. He was born in the town of Kronstadt, near St. Petersburg, and served as a priest in the city for over fifty years. He was known for his spiritual guidance and his charitable works, and was a popular figure in the Russian Orthodox Church. He is remembered for his prayers, his sermons, and his healing miracles. He is often referred to as the "Wonderworker of Kronstadt" and is credited with many miracles, including healing the sick and raising the dead. He was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church in 1990.
