His most famous works include "Walk on the Beach", "The Horse’s Bath", "Sad Inheritance", and "The Wounded Foot". Sorolla"s style was a variant of Impressionism and his best works, painted in the open air, vividly portray the sunny seacoast of Valencia. Despite suffering a stroke in 1920 that left him paralyzed on his left side, he continued to paint until his death in 1923. His house in Madrid is now a museum, the Museo Sorolla, which houses many of his works. His paintings are also found in many major international collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Art Institute of Chicago.
